Dotcom Secrets | Week 8

“Reading books from those who have done it all can help you avoid the mistakes they made when they were just starting out.” – Bryce Ward 6/19/2020

This past two weeks I have been working with the Clickfunnels system and building funnels for Stupid Raisins. My colleague Dylan sent me a copy of Dotcom Secrets to use as a reference on how to build different types of sales funnels.

What Is A Funnel?

For those who are unfamiliar with what a funnel is let me explain. A funnel is a step by step process to get someone to do something. In this case, buy a product or service. A great example would be a sales letter you would get in the mail explaining how cool their vacuum cleaner is and that you can buy their vacuum cleaner at a great price for a limited time.

How Does It Work?

Online the idea is the same but the way it looks is a bit different. In Dotcom Secrets, Russell explains that every funnel uses a Hook, Story, and Offer to make their sale. For example, Stupid Raisins offers video editors who use FCPX a free USB with a copy of Jumpstart Pop.

This hook brings in people interested in getting a free USB and when they land on the Jumpstart Pop Page there is a video of Dylan telling visitors how awesome Jumpstart Pop is. Then to filter out those who are willing to put money forward visitors are asked to pay a shipping fee of $7.95 for standard shipping or $14.95 for expedited shipping to get their free Plugin. There is even an offer to get instant access to Jumpstart Pop for $9.95.

Then after the customer makes that first purchase the next page upsells them with an offer to add Simple Logo Pop and Puppet Pop to their order. This brings up the customer’s total cart value to $198.95. This number is assuming they purchase all the upsells in the sales funnel. However, even if just one or two customers purchase the full package Stupid Raisins is making all of their money back and then some from advertising a free USB.

Not a bad business model if you ask me!

Thank You!

Hey, thank you for reading this week’s post. In the near future, I plan on selling my own product using this funnel model. Hopefully, it will be a successful project and will allow me to buy my first home! Let me know down in the comments if you use Clickfunnels and what you learned from selling online.

Thank you again for your time and for reading this post!

Have a fantastic day!

Sincerely,

-Bryce Ward
