Which Floorplan? | Week 38

“The right environment can inspire you, and so your home should work to inspire. – Bryce Ward 1/23/2021

Welcome, everyone! This past couple of weeks, I have made progress with my Tiny House research, and now I am ready to pick out the floorplan! I am currently working with Tumbleweed Tiny House Company to build my tiny house on wheels. The main requirement for my tiny house is that I need an office space to work online. Since this will be a space that I will be spending most of my time, I want to have a nice view and room to move if needed. I have narrowed down my selection to two different floorplans.

Cypress® 26′ Equator

My first choice was the Cypress Equator plan because I wanted an option that would fit my office space requirement. The Cypress Equator is a 26-foot floorplan and falls under an estimated $90,000. My main concern for the flex room is that it does not feel very open. I would love to see either a larger window installed or perhaps moving both windows closer to the right corner since I would be facing that way when I am working.

Cypress® 30′ Alta

My next choice is the larger 30 foot, Cypress Alta. This floorplan would allow me to have a bigger office space without sacrificing space elsewhere. Plus, the sleeping loft space is larger compared to the Equator plan. As with the Equator plan, I wish to install bigger windows on both sides of the flex room to open it up more. The only main downside I can see is that the cost will increase to just under $100,000. However, despite the higher price, I am leaning more towards Alta since I would have more space overall to work with.

Thank You!
