Writing How-To Scripts | Week 45
“Write out your thoughts; you might find the solution once the problem is on paper.“ – Bryce Ward 3/6/2021
This weekend I am working on producing how-to videos for Barotrauma. Since this is my first time creating tutorial videos, I want to write out my thought process for creating the scripts.
The Layout

For my first series of how-to videos, I plan on going over the five different roles players can choose to play as in Barotrauma. My goal for each video is to explain each crew member’s responsibilities on the submarine, how they can best complete those duties, and share how each of the subclasses functions. For example, the Captain’s role on the submarine is to steer the ship and coordinate with the crew to tackle problems. If a creature attacks the ship and puts a hole in the sub, the Captain can direct the crew to kill the invader and plug the leak. Also, the Captain has three subclasses that provide the player with different starting items. Overall I believe this layout will be a good start for my first few tutorial videos.
Thank You!
Hey, thank you for reading this week’s post! Have you ever made how-to videos before? How did you lay out your script? I would love to hear your experience in the comments.
