Stay Hydrated! | Week 61
“The best answer to a problem is to prevent the problem from happening.” – Bryce Ward 7/3/2021
As the week comes to a close, so does the heatwave that has struck the Pacific Northwest. However, even though heatwaves are not heard of in the Northwest, we are hitting new highs. Currently, the record has been pushed to 115 degrees, and with that comes a higher risk of heat-related illnesses.
How To Stay Cool
As temperatures rise this summer, be sure to drink plenty of water. Drink at least 32ozs of water every day, and make sure to bring a water bottle with you if you plan on leaving your house. During a heatwave staying inside an air-conditioned building is your safest option. If you need to be outdoors, then stick to the shade and avoid direct sunlight. Wearing hats with a wide brim can help keep the sunlight off your skin and prevent sunburns on the back of your head and upper neck.
